tanding : coaches Karl Smith, Randy Hrechka, and Renee Lauriault,

Kneeling : Brianne Conlon, Erica Sorensen, Maxime Rainville-RSouleau, Caroline Piquette, and Julia Lizotte.
Recently the Sudbury Midget Girls travelled to Newmarket to compete in the Provincial Tournament against teams from across Southern Ontario.
The first game was a closely contested battle against Georgian Bay with Danielle pitching a complete game. However Sudbury gave up 4 runs in the final two innings on a couple of costly fielding errors, and went down in defeat by a score of 8 to 5. A lack of some timely hitting, resulting in stranding several base runners would prove to be there final undoing.
Top hitters for Sudbury were Brianne with a home run, and Erica with a couple of hits.
In game two Sudbury lost a heart breaker, after leading most of the game, but again a couple of fielding errors, in the pouring rain, would allow Orangeville to tie it at 8 all after six innings. After a lengthy rain delay, play resumed for the final inning with Orangeville squeaking out one run against Danielle, in relief of Tracey, which Sudbury was unable to match.
Top hitters for Sudbury were Tracey with a two hits and a home run, and Caroline, Nikita, and Maxime with a couple of hits apiece.
Sudbury’s final game was against a very good team from Sebringville, whose only loss of the tournament was in the championship game against Cornwall. Sudbury went down in defeat to Sebringville by the score of 12 to 0, however the game was actually much closer than the score would indicate as without a couple of errors on routine infield pop ups, the score would have been 1 to 0 going into the fifth inning.
Tracey was the starting pitcher for Sudbury, and gave way to Danielle in relief in the fourth inning.
Top hitters for Sudbury against a very good pitcher were Tracey with a couple of hits, followed by Julia, and Kelly with one hit a piece.
